St. Louis + Destination

Travel & Nature Photojournalism

The old adage goes, “rain on your wedding day is good luck“…and we certainly had no lack of rain! Despite the dark skies and constant, relentless rainfall, we enjoyed a beautiful celebration for Sarah & Zachary. We began the day at River City Casino in South County, a fairly new casino to the area that features modern fixtures and beautiful artwork. Though we were confined to the indoors for most of the day, the casino is rather beautiful, so we didn’t mind in the least.

The fountain was dyed blue, for the Saint Louis Blues hockey team.

Looming globe light fixtures illuminate the fleur-de-lis lined ceilings.

The Bride & her Bridesmaids getting ready. Props to the Matron of Honor (and one of my past brides) Casey, for this idea.

I love finding reflective surfaces for ring details! This is one of my most favorite wedding-day ring shots to date.

Blushes, pinks and rose golds…I loved their stationery and wedding colors.

Lovely blush details.

Without hesitation, the Groom & his Groomsmen met me at the hotel bar for a few creative portraits.

Sarah & Zach’s first look was so sweet. The way he looks at his Bride to be…

While it did continue to rain throughout their ceremony, we were thankful that the venue offered a covered area for Sarah & Zachary to exchange their vows.

The Reception Room was beautifully decorated with lovely blush details and featured tall, gilded candle-holders filled with florals.

The Maid of Honor (who is Sarah’s sister) provided plenty of laughs as she retold funny childhood stories.

The Father of the Bride expressed his well-wishes and thankfulness.

The Father of the Groom gave his best advice, and had a surprise to the Bride from the Groom’s childhood…

Sarah & Zachary ventured outdoors with me for their end-of-the-night shot, for which I am very thankful. It was cold, rainy and mildly uncomfortable, however – the last image of the day was incredible and very much worth the effort!

Many congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Zachary Schaefer!
