St. Louis + Destination

Travel & Nature Photojournalism

I have had the pleasure in documenting another love story come full circle. I first met Sarah several years ago at a wedding where she was the maid of honor. Soon after I was photographing her engagement session, then her own rainy wedding day, and now, her journey into motherhood.

Sarah and her family joined me bright and early on a beautiful Sunday morning to explore a creek bed in Castlewood State Park. Spanning across the Meramec River, Castlewood State Park occupies nearly two thousand acres of land in St. Louis County, Missouri. Originally developed in the early 1900’s as a resort town, the park is now a popular trail hiking and mountain biking destination.

When thinking of location ideas, I was excited that Sarah wanted to incorporate water into her photos. Several days prior the region endured a few days of heavy rainfall, filling the park creek nicely. It was the perfect location for her Mommy & Me session with her adorable little one.
