When I first met Andrea for her initial wedding photography consult, I totally lost track of time (it was hours) as we were able to just casually chat about wedding details and beyond. I loved learning more about her and her fiance, and it made me smile to see just how giddy-in-love she is with Joe. After finally meeting Joe at their engagement session in Forest Park a few months later, being able to see the love and chemistry (and laughs) between them left me in such a great mood! I love it when couples are each other’s best friends.
I’ll admit, my anxiety was a little high the week of their wedding. March had been so dark and stormy. After an entire week of dreary skies and rain, we were so grateful for a beautiful day of sunshine. Andrea and Joe married on April 1st at the Downtown Saint Louis Westin Hotel, and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful celebration.
The Westin Hotel resides just a block away from the St. Louis Cardinals stadium. Opening Day is tomorrow (April 2nd) – so there were a lot of festivities downtown. There was a lot of buzz around the stadium — I loved the energy.
I would like to to take a moment to give some vendor-love : the staff at the Westin Hotel are fabulous. Megan, the event coordinator and wedding specialist at the Westin, is so sweet and so helpful! I loved being able to collaborate with her to ensure that Andrea and Joe had the best.day.ever…
Melissa, owner of The Family Joolz, a high-end shop specializing in custom, heirloom velvet ring boxes, created this ring box specially for Andrea’s ring – and it photographed beautifully!
I’m always happy to see Lisa on a wedding day. Lisa of Looks by Lisa is a terrific make up artist and is so lovely to work with. I love her style; Lisa accentuates a person’s natural beauty, without overshadowing. Her work is natural and her brides always look amazing.
Andrea’s children, Christopher and Patrick, walked her down the aisle.
A guest awaits the reception.
The Westin staff did an incredible job setting up the reception room!
I loved the gilded chairs and bistro lights.
Towards the end of the evening, the drapery was pulled back to reveal our stadium.
I loved the reflection of the indoor lights against the glass window.
At the end of the night, I always like to take the bride and groom outside for an end of the night shot. We ventured out into the hotel courtyard, and onto Spruce Street to capture the stadium in the background. These two are truly meant for each other; I wish them only the best and a lifetime of adventures and happiness!
