Go! Saint Louis Halloween 10K Run

We had a lot of fun at yesterday’s Go! Saint Louis 10K Halloween Run! Thousands of participants and spectators enjoyed the beautiful fall morning weather in downtown Saint Louis, where over 6,000 racers clamored together just outside the Soldier’s Memorial Museum for the race start.

Ready...Set...Go! Saint Louis!

Out of 205 people in his age group, Matt came in 10th, and 69th overall. I’m becoming more and more impressed with Matt’s natural running ability…and I love that he is including running events into his yearly calendar. Now we have running races to attend during the triathlon off-season.

Posing Before the Race

Overall it was a fun event that we’re looking very forward to doing again next year. The race also hosted a costume contest, and plenty of racers participated!

Dinner Party at the Beckners | 06.22.11

Last night, we had a nice outdoor dinner at the Beckner House. I couldn’t resist taking photos of their beautiful gardens and trees.

For dinner, we enjoyed Yellow Fin Tuna with a sauteed ensemble of mango, red peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, zucchini, cilantro and yellow squash. Delicious!

Fête de Glace | Ice Festival Saint Charles

The Fête de Glace, Saint Charles’s annual ice carving competition, was held on the 100-200 block of Main Street in Saint Charles, Missouri. I have never been to an ice carving festival before, and I thought it would be fun to photograph something new. The Carvers, (though I feel they are more than carvers, more like a blend of meticulous artists/carvers/sculptors/chainsaw specialists) created incredible works of art out of massive blocks of ice and an array of tools ranging from traditional pics and chisels to power tools, chainsaws, blow torches and even irons.
